With over 30 years of experience in the industry, Hugo’s enthusiasm and expertise have attracted fine wine connoisseurs all over the world. His clients include international business leaders, foreign embassies and private collectors. 

 

Hugo graduated from the University of Piura (Piura, Peru) in 1982 with a degree in Economics and Business Administration. Hugo’s dedication and integrity have been with Wide World of Wines since he first joined the company in 1986. He began as a staff member, then rapidly ascended the ranks as first an Assistant Manager, then General Manager, and finally purchased the company in November 2014, fulfilling a life-long dream.

 

Hugo’s passion for fine wine has motivated him to open many doors in his life and continues to inspire him to find and source the highest quality wines for his clientele, including the traditional as well as the innovative in wine-making.

 

 

 

Chris Conroy

Office Manager

 

Chris’s professional background includes Office Management and Administration at a wide variety of institutions including American University, Squire Patton Boggs, and FTI Consulting Inc. She brings all the benefits of her skills and experience in the corporate and K Street environments to the very different task of running operations of a small, privately-owned business with accuracy, efficiency, and a focus on client satisfaction. Her tenure at Wide World of Wines has provided her with an opportunity for a great deal of growth, both personally and professionally.

 

 

 

John Komorowski

General Manager

 

John comes from a lengthy and broad background in wine, performing nearly every duty of every kind in the wine industry. John was “born into wine” and managed one of America's largest private wine cellars from an early age; his father had a cellar of 85,000 bottles, providing John with an unparalleled opportunity to experience the most exclusive fine wines in history. He has worked at one of the smallest wine auction firms in the world (Bacchus Auctioneers), as well as one of the largest (Zachy's).  His most recent employment was at Heritage Auctions as Wine Inventory Supervisor before joining the team here at Wide World of Wines in 2014.
